SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The fifth annual Philanthropic Foodies culinary showcase, taking place on Sunday, July 31 at SKY Armory from 4 to 8 p.m., will benefit Friends of Dorothy House, CancerConnects, The First Tee Syracuse, The Samaritan Center and On Point for College.

“In celebration of our fifth anniversary, we’re excited to support all nonprofits from previous years and to highlight the incredible work they are doing right here in Central New York,” said Renee Duffy, co-founder of Philanthropic Foodies. “Over the past four years, we’ve been able to raise nearly $160,000 and it’s all made possible through the generosity of community members and local businesses working together to make this event happen. It’s amazing to see how a simple concept – eat, drink and give back – can make such a big difference in our community.”

Philanthropic Foodies consists of 13 tasting stations with food prepared on-site by Syracuse area chefs. This year’s chefs include: Chef Jason Jessmore, SKY Armory; Chef Eva Zaczynski, Eva’s European Sweets; Chef Kevin Gentile; Pit Master Dick Benedetto, Smoke Incorporated BBQ; Chef Anthony Donofrio, Modern Malt; Chef Chance Bear, Lincklaen House; Chef Dan Seeley, Diamond Catering and The Cider Mill Restaurant; Chef Matt Riddett, Empire Brewing Company; Chef Mark Bullis, Bull & Bear Roadhouse; Chef Luke Szabo, LoFo; Pizzaiolo John Vigliotti, Peppino’s Restaurant and Catering; Sam Mondello, Vince’s Gourmet Imports; and Gannon’s Ice Cream.

Tasting stations are paired with beverages provided by local businesses, including: Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars, Life of Reilley Distilling & Wine Company, Middle Ages Brewing Company, Opici Family Wines, Empire Brewing Company, Brewery Ommegang, Modern Malt, Wagner Vineyards, School & Vine, and Peaks Coffee Co.

Philanthropic Foodies also features a live and silent auction, a wine wall, and live entertainment provided by the Todd Hobin Trio and students from Signature Music.
